MORBID ANGEL: In Mixing Mode
July 4, 2003Veteran death metallers MORBID ANGEL have finished recording their seventh album and are currently mixing the effort at D.O.W. (Diet Of Worms) studios in Seffner, Florida for a tentative September release through Earache Records. "We have working mixes and are tightening up the record. We will go into mastering in the next few days," writes co-producer and longtime front-of-house mixing engineer Juan "Punchy Gonzalez on Earache's web site.
As previously reported, the follow-up to 2000's "Gateways To Annihilation", tentatively titled "H2K3" (a title that is likely to be changed before the album is officially released),will mark a return to the fold of bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, who originally left the band in early April 2001 due to "personal and family problems." Tucker was temporarily replaced by HATE ETERNAL bassist/vocalist Jared Anderson but rejoined the band earlier this year amid rumors of a possible reunion with former vocalist David Vincent.
